Long Beach City Auditor Laura Doud issued an official statement announcing “Investigation Confirms that Urban Commons, Leaseholder and Operator of the Queen Mary, Misrepresented Financial Information to the City of Long Beach.”
The City of Long Beach (City) partnered with Hemming Morse to analyze $23 million of payments made related to funding critical and urgent repairs at the Queen Mary. The analysis determined Urban Commons provided the City with documents indicating Urban Commons had made payments to vendors working on the repairs at the Queen Mary. However, payments had not been made when the documentation was provided to the City.
