On September 23, 2024, a California jury awarded counter-claimants, including Clifford “T.I.” Harris and his wife, Tameka “Tiny” Harris, $17.8 million in profits on the sale of dolls by MGA Entertainment, a number to which Hemming Morse expert Christian Tregillis testified at trial in the matter, as well as $53 million in punitive damages. The result follows over two years of Hemming Morse’s work on the matter, quantifying MGA’s profits attributable to the trade dress at issue, with the jury finding that MGA’s OMG Dolls used the trade dress of a music group, the OMG Girlz.
