Paul Regan has been a certified public accountant since 1970. His work in the accounting profession includes extensive experience as an auditor and as a consultant.
As an auditor, Paul has served as engagement partner, supervising and participating in more than 100 audits of public and private companies. As an accounting expert, he has testified in more than 125 trials and arbitrations and more than 225 depositions. He has worked on more than 750 complex litigation matters. Many of these have required an extensive analysis and determination of GAAP, Auditing Standards and SEC requirements, including those involving financial statement fraud. Paul’s cases have involved construction claims, intellectual property and other damages related disputes. He has performed these analyses for large and small companies in the private sector, as well as for various states and federal agencies (e.g., the FDIC, Resolution Trust Corporation, the Department of Justice, the SEC and the PCAOB). These analyses have involved financial records of entities across a diverse range of industries, including companies such as Countrywide, Xerox, Parmalat, Sunbeam, Cisco, Enron and Lehman Brothers.
Paul has been actively involved on many levels with the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CalCPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) throughout his career. He is a past chair of CalCPA, as well as its Litigation Services Steering Committee and Economic Damages Section.
