The AICPA presented Andy Mintzer with the 2025 AICPA Gold Medal Award of Distinction on May 14 during its Spring Meeting of the Governing Council. The Gold Medal is the highest honor awarded by the AICPA and is given annually to an individual whose impact on the accounting profession is particularly significant in comparison to other leaders in the field.
In announcing the award, the AICPA recognized Mintzer’s lasting contributions to the profession through his service on the International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants (IESBA), the AICPA Auditing Standards Board (ASB), and the Accounting Standards Executive Committee. His leadership has been instrumental in shaping key professional standards and strengthening the public interest voice of the accounting profession.
Mr. Mintzer’s recognition reflects not only his individual achievements but also the meaningful contributions of Hemming Morse professionals and the firm’s continued leadership within the accounting profession.
